I am a United Methodist pastor, proud dad of a 19 year old daughter who is a student at McLennan Community College. I married the beautiful and gifted Rachel Giessen in February of 2007. I consider myself a postmodern, possibly emergent Christian.
I currently serve the Chaplain of the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco. I am also the Conference Student Leadership Team Coordinator and one of two Jurisdictional Youth Coordinators for the South Central Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church.
I enjoy reading, watching movies and television, sports, photography, and great conversation. Oh, yeah, and coffee. And microbrews.

I’m a follower of Jason Valendy’s blog and it led me here. What a pleasant surprise to see Rachel’s picture on the blog and realize her husband is the blog author! I’m a huge Rachel fan. Give her my love and, with your permission, I’d love to follow your blog. Mine is not nearly as profound as yours or Jason’s but feel free to check it out at http://glassyeyedjo.blogspot.com.
Congratulations on finishing your 12th book of the year. I’m a librarian and an avid reader.

Nice site you have here. Some great information about you, but poking around on the Welcome and Home pages, I didn’t see your name!? Maybe I missed it. I saw your wife’s name and some info about your daughter – but your name?
