You told this story at JYMO. It's so very true. Adults will never know what youth think unless they take the time to ask us instead of presuming they know exactly what we feel.

If you haven't seen Rob Bell's new video, "The Gods Aren't Angry", I would recommend it. It speaks directly to the history of our general unworthiness mindset.

Do white middle-aged males have a monopoly on the my way or the highway mentality? And, if you are white, male and middle-aged, should you just shut up because people like you have always had more power than other demographic profiles?

While I tend toward postmodernism, and therefore toward skepticism regarding the "God's-eye view", I still believe that there IS a God's eye view, and that we are called to be "conformed to His Image." So, yes, I think there's a "biblical world view" I just am skeptical that any one person or even any one group has the whole map. I think that's why we need the Body ... the individual congregation and the Church Universal.

If we use the phone as an illustration, we have the advantage of long hindsight. I'm sure many other things were patented that day (week/year), some offering great promise, yet never panning out. Rarely do Big Ideas come already known as Big Ideas (though marketing hype tries to tell us everything is the Next Big Idea).
